Midcentury Modern Home Designs

Midcentury modern is a term for architecture that was designed and built from the late 1940s through the 1970s. These homes were very much about a state of mind and a lifestyle. They often included sliding glass doors and floor to ceiling windows that helped the home feel part of the surrounding nature and encouraged the transition from indoors to out. They featured large open spaces that might be spread across multiple elevations within the home, creating split level spaces that are perfect for entertaining or relaxing. The exterior would have flat or low pitched roofs and walls could be clad with stucco or brick. The appearance of these homes reflects clean geometric lines and simplicity.
