French Country Home Designs

This popular home style has its roots in the rustic manors that populate the rural French countryside. One of the most notable features of this style are the tall, steeply pitched roofs that flare upwards at the eaves. These homes will often include a variety of roof elements that provide numerous focal points and contribute to a stately appearance. Prominent entry towers and arched dormers above the roofline have become hallmarks of this style. The exterior facade can be comprised of brick, stone, stucco or a mixture thereof. 1/2 timber detailing can also be included as an exterior design element.
