Modern Home Designs

Modern style homes constructed today follow the same design tenets as their predecessors. The focus is on minimalistic design without superfluous detailing. Flat or low slung roofs are standard and, if pitched, can be metal or composition shingle. Windows are typically large and unobstructed by mullions (bars between panes of glass in a window). Exteriors can be comprised of concrete, metal, and linear wood siding and most often feature lots of glass. Starting at the exterior and carried throughout the interior design of the home, the focus is on clean, geometric lines and shapes and immaculate and spacious open areas.
